This year, the Bitcoin 2022 conference is being held in Miami, a city known for its bright colors and live culture. While it’s a beautiful place to visit, a trip can quickly go downhill if you suddenly get turned around and can’t figure out where you’re headed. These answers to some common questions can help you navigate the conference center, as well as the outlying city, and smooth out some of the minor details so that you can enjoy your time with a few less hiccups.

Miami Beach Convention Center

How do I get there? The conference will be held at 1901 Convention Center Drive in Miami Beach, accessible by I-395, I-95, and the Venetian Causeway. It’s the long white building with all the glass windows that form a wave at the front entrance. You can’t miss it.

Where do I park? For valet parking you’ll need to navigate to the west lobby main entrance off of Convention Center Drive, specifically near 1st Class Parking. If a parking garage is more your speed, there are a number of options in the general vicinity.

•  1909 Meridian Avenue

•  581 17th Street

•  1661 Pennsylvania Ave

•  640 17th Street

•  1735 Meridian Avenue

•  1662 Meridian Avenue

•  1550 Collins Avenue

It’s recommended that visitors download the Park Me – Miami Beach app for real-time parking availability and rates at parking lots and garages near you. The app also lets you reserve a space in advance so you don’t have to rush to get there.

How do I get in? Doors open for Bitcoin 2022 at 8 am daily, and wristbands for those with paid tickets will be distributed on Day 1. Don’t lose them as this wristband is your access pass for the entire conference; if you lose yours, you’ll have to buy another admission ticket.

Do I wear a mask? Masks are optional, and there is no requirement for guests to provide medical information. That said, the Miami Beach Convention Center does encourage wearing masks (as of Feb. 11, 2022). What’s more, for large gatherings, the CDC recommends keeping up-to-date with Covid-19 vaccinations, wearing a mask if you’re high risk (or are constantly around someone who is), and taking a Covid test before an event so you can be sure of your personal status and take any appropriate actions. If you feel sick or are uncomfortable being in large crowds, organizers strongly recommend staying home and watching the free event livestream .

Is there wifi? The convention center offers free wifi throughout the building. Bitcoin 2022 organizers may also have an additional wifi option. Ask about wifi options and accessibility during your registration.

Music Festival and Afterparty

Where’s the music festival? Sound Money Fest will take place at the convention center, and within Pride Park directly behind the building. It’s an indoor/outdoor experience, and if you’ve already spent the day at the convention center, you won’t have to worry about moving your car.

What afterparty? SoFi is hosting an official Bitcoin afterparty at LIV Nightclub on Friday, April 6th. It starts at 10:30 pm and will feature a surprise guest DJ. The club is located at 4441 Collins Avenue, roughly 10 minutes from the convention center. Invites to the afterparty will be given out at the SoFi booth (#432) in the Expo Hall.

Dinner & Drinks

Will there be food? Bitcoin 2022 will have food and alcohol onsite for purchase. Attendees with the Whale VIP Passes will have access to premium food and beverages, as included in the price of their tickets. Be aware that problematic public intoxication will get you removed from the premises.

Can I pay in Bitcoin? Yes, absolutely!

Where else can I eat? If you’re looking for something outside of what the conference has to offer, there are many restaurants and bars not too far from the center that you can enjoy. Here are just a few options.

Orange Blossom – American cuisine & cocktails

2000 Collins Avenue, Ste 7, Miami Beach

  Moreno’s Cuba – Cuban cuisine & cocktails

  1850 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach

  Sriracha House – Asian fusion

  1502 Washington Avenue, Miami Beach

  Cheeseburger Baby – American burgers

  1505 Washington Avenue, Miami Beach

  Havana 1957 – Cuban

  405 Española Way, Miami Beach

  Bâoli Miami – Asian fusion

  1906 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach

How do I get there? If your car rental has a GPS, just type in the address and you’ll be on your way. Typical rideshare options include Uber and Lyft, however Miami also offers a number of free options. Rideshares Swoop Ride and Freebee will transport you around the general area at no cost. There is also a free citywide trolley that operates throughout Miami Beach. If all else fails, the city bus is $2.25 a ride.
